A Note from the Theatre Arts Director About Brenham Broadway Kids Dear Parents, The BBK is a fantastic way for your child to experience the wonderful world of musical theatre. Your child will develop self-confidence, discipline and an understanding of teamwork in a whole new way. It is awesome to see what all the hours of hard work can accomplish. It truly is an amazing feeling to put a show on for an audience. I want all of you to know, before your child auditions, that our staff will expect much from you and your child. The rehearsals can be exhausting and time consuming. They will need to rehearse music and dialogue not only in rehearsals but at home as well. I am not explaining all of this to scare you away but rather it is my way to prepare your child and your whole family. You as a parent will beam with pride seeing your child on stage knowing all the work that went into the final production. We also need parents to volunteer some of their time to the musical too. Opportunities to volunteer include bringing snacks to a long rehearsal, helping with sets, props, & costumes, assisting as a backstage parent and coordinating the preparations of our cast party. If you can, talk to a parent that helped out last year. They will tell you about all the hard work they put into it and also about the great joy they felt too! So get ready for a year of hard work and fun, along with memories that will last a lifetime!
