A win win for Brenham and a win win
for Wisconsin. Every chorus group, parents, and choral directors
involved want to come to Brenham, Texas. There is a real possibility
for many of those we met to come to our community. We stimulated a
serious interest in learning more about us and Blue Bell Ice Cream.
Wisconsin won, because they now know our community, our children,
the quality of our arts, and our values. They had the opportunity to
know what we have known for a long time. They were so impressed with
our chorus both concerts in Door County were videotaped for viewing
on both public access channels.
Monday was a day of constant travel. The Wisconsin bound choristers
started their day early. We departed Blinn College at 7:00 a.m.
bound for Hobby Airport.
Once we arrived at Hobby, we all waited patiently to check our bags,
receive our boarding passes and go thru security. We all enjoyed an
early lunch in the airport and then we were off to Atlanta.
For those choristers who had never flown before it was an exciting
time. In Atlanta we hustled off the plane, rode the moving sidewalk,
and went down the escalator, on board the tram to the next terminal
and back up the stairs. We arrived at our gate in time to board our
plane to Milwaukee.
In Milwaukee we met Bus Driver Bob and settled into our charter bus
for the ride to Fond du Lac and our hotel, but stopping first for
dinner in a nearby restaurant.
Prior to eating the Chorus sang a blessing. Truly beautiful. School
Bus, Planes, Moving sidewalks, escalators, trams, and charter bus .
. . . . the Brenham Children's Chorus was on the move.
We arrived at our motel for much need rest. It had been a long day,
but a day filled with anticipation, excitement, and enthusiasm!
The chaperones, choristers and staff went to bed, anticipating a
week filled with music, new friends, and adventure.
Hello, Wisconsin!
