July 19 - Tuesday we shopped in downtown Fond du
Lac. We found books, stuffed animals, antiques, and chocolates. We
had a delicious lunch at the Old Country Buffet. We were
complimented on our well behaved children and asked by several
people to sing. We delighted our fellow diners with a beautiful
rendition of "Joy in My Heart" and "The Yellow Rose of Texas".
During the lunch the manager told one of the traveling adults they
had never had a better group of children. He added "They are
wonderful representatives of Texas".
After lunch we went to St. Paul's Cathedral and rehearsed for the
evening concert and then we were back on the bus to the hotel to
change into our uniforms.
We had an enjoyable dinner at Schreiner's Restaurant and then headed
back to St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral for our evening concert. St.
Paul's Cathedral is a beautiful, historic church and the chorus'
singing was enhanced by the beautiful surroundings. We sang several
songs and then the Choirs from Evans and Parkside Elementary sang
for us. We joined with them to sing "Music Alone Shall Live".
It was a terrific concert. At the conclusion of the concert the
Director of Music and Organist urged us to consider a return
engagement.
